Open Reproducible Research

The Psychology Research Institute (INPSY) actively promotes reproducibility and a transparent research process. A list of publications that share materials and are pre-registered can be found below.

The aim of both principles is not only to publish the final text of studies, but also to publish materials and information about the research process. Good research practice recommends that scientists and researchers preregister hypotheses/expected results, methods, and analytical plan before working with the data. It is also recommended that materials such as data used, analytical scripts, protocols, etc. be shared during the preparation of the study and/or after publication.

Preregistration serves several purposes: 1) author teams clearly share their goals and procedures, 2) clearly distinguish between confirmatory and exploratory aspects of the study, 3) allow for community feedback prior to publication, 4) allow peer-reviewed journals to accept the study based on its original idea rather than "favorable" results, and 5) avoid the phenomenon of HARKing (hypothesizing after the results are known).

In addition, we adhere as much as possible to the principle of Open Data - free access to research data that can be verified and the research replicated at any time. Open Data includes both primary data from studies and other data such as analytical scripts and procedures.
